Paris Olympics 2024

Hosted every four years the summer Olympic games are an event that unites countries, fans, and competitors across the globe.

Athletes who have worked their entire lives are finally provided the opportunity to compete and prove themselves in their sport, sometimes breaking records, and sometimes bringing home medals and glory for the country they represent.

Various events at the Paris Olympics 2024 are hosted at a number of iconic locations across the city of Paris and in the surrounding region. Here just a few of the incredible venues to look forward to:

  • Stade de France: The site of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as all the track and field events of the Olympics.
  • Champ de Mars Arena: Known as the “Grand Palais Éphémère,” the Champ de Mars Arena was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and constructed in 2021 with sustainable materials to blend into the surrounding urban landscape. Set against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, this venue will host events such as judo and wrestling.
  • Roland Garros Stadium: Built in 1928, the Roland Garros Stadium was named for the famous French aviator. Close to Parc des Prince on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, this stadium is host to the French Open each year and will, naturally, be the location of tennis events and boxing.
  • Hôtel les Invalides: Built under Louis XIV in 1687 as a military hospital and retirement home for veterans, the Hôtel des Invalides currently houses museums and monuments all referring to French military history, including the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. It will be host for archery and a finish line for the marathons.
  • Bercy Arena: An iconic venue for culture and sport in Paris, the Bercy Arena is famous for its pyramid design that stands out amongst other Parisian architecture. Since its construction in 1984, the venue has hosted various high-level sports and large-scale concerts, including Madonna, Paul McCartney and Daft Punk. Find the basketball and gymnastics events here.
  • Château de Versailles: UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, the opulent former court of Louis XIV in 1682 and epicentre of French royalty will host the modern pentathlon and equestrian events, providing a majestic backdrop for dressage, jumping, and eventing.
  • Arena Paris Nord: With 9 exhibition halls, the Villepinte exhibition centre is the largest exhibition centre in France, and will be the site of boxing and the modern pentathlon.
  • Arena Paris Sud: Built in 1923, the Arena Paris Sud is part of Paris Expo and will host weightlifting, handball, table tennis and volleyball.
