Metro by T-Mobile international calling and texting guide
Can I use my Metro by T-Mobile phone internationally?
Formerly known as MetroPCS, Metro by T-Mobile is a prepaid mobile brand that uses the T-Mobile network to connect its customers.
While Metro by T-Mobile does not directly provide service outside of the United States, international roaming is available for selected countries through agreements with third-party carriers.
How do I use Metro by T-Mobile international roaming?
Since Metro by T-Mobile only operates within the United States, you must be a customer in good standing in order to use their international roaming service, and you may lose the ability to use their international roaming service if you fail to pay all required service fees.
If you’re going to be travelling internationally and you want to use your Metro by T-Mobile phone number in another country, contact them directly or store by a Metro by T-Mobile store to ask for specifics.
How do I use eSIM data with Metro by T-Mobile calling/texting?
1. Make sure you have a device that supports eSIM
2. Tell Metro by T-Mobile you want to use your regular phone number internationally
3. Download the free aloSIM app
4. Buy and install an eSIM (digital SIM)
5. Activate your prepaid data package
During activation, we’ll show you how to set your device to keep your phone number active, while preventing roaming on your Metro by T-Mobile plan. You’ll only pay Metro by T-Mobile for calls and texts, not data!
If I use an eSIM for data, will Metro by T-Mobile charge me for data usage, too?
If you’re using an eSIM for all data usage, you have disabled Data Roaming for your Metro by T-Mobile SIM, and you have opted out of any automatic Metro by T-Mobile roaming plans, they will not charge you data roaming fees.
Whether you have an iPhone, Samsung, or Google Pixel device, we can show you how to keep your phone number available while preventing your Metro by T-Mobile SIM from “roaming” and using data while you travel.
